oranjestad
Oranjestad, the capital of Sint Eustatius, is a charming harbor town with a rich history and scenic beauty. The town is divided into two main sections: Lower Town and Upper Town. Lower Town, located along the waterfront, is home to colonial-era ruins, dive shops, and the island’s safest beach, offering a picturesque setting for exploration. The rugged harbor, once a bustling trade center, still holds remnants of the island’s storied past. Upper Town, perched above, serves as the commercial and residential hub, featuring well-preserved historic buildings, local businesses, and cultural landmarks that provide insight into the island’s Dutch colonial heritage.
The island’s residents are known for their hospitality and respect, creating a peaceful and friendly atmosphere for travelers. Whether strolling through historic streets, hiking lush trails, or diving into crystal-clear waters, visitors can fully immerse themselves in Statia’s beauty with peace of mind.
a secure and welcoming destination
Statia is known for its welcoming and safe atmosphere, thanks to its low crime rates and close-knit community. The local police force is engaged and proactive, ensuring a secure environment where visitors can explore freely, even at night. Healthcare services on the island are provided by the St. Eustatius Health Care Foundation, with emergency airlift options available to larger medical facilities if needed.

Gentle tradewinds and abundant sunshine

St. Eustatius basks in a warm tropical climate characterized by abundant sunshine. With about 300 sunny days a year, the island enjoys on average 8 to 9 hours of sunlight every day.
This consistent sunshine supports its lush landscapes and vibrant marine life, making it a paradise for nature enthusiasts and divers. Gentle trade winds moderate the heat, providing a pleasant and inviting atmosphere year-round.
